Hi, I'm Shaun Ferguson

I teach people how to play golf, and how to play golf better.

The biggest portion of my coaching time is spent with Recreational / Amateur golfers (mostly people on a programme to reduce their handicap or become more competitive) and Beginners getting into the game.

Since the late 1990’s I’ve Coached on 3 continents and Caddied in 19 different countries as part of the PGA European Tour – you could say I’ve seen a few things and met a few people.

I’m also living proof that lightning can, in fact, strike the same place twice. That makes me a 1 in 9 million guy, aww shucks!

Shaun Ferguson?

I’m a full-time Teaching Professional that’s worked with beginner and established golfers for over 20 years. I’ve played and worked at some of the most beautiful golf facilities in the world, and at some of the most humble.

My coaching strategies have helped thousands of people into the game, and thousands more to achieving scores / handicaps they didn’t think they were capable of.

I continue to build my network, attend Continued Professional Development courses and foster expertise in a variety of different fields so that I can serve my clients better.

Whether you are a beginner golfer, or an established player, I will coach YOU, not the latest fad or try to fit you to a swing type. I don’t believe that there is only one way to swing a club (I have coached a person with a missing limb to a single figure h/c) but there is definitely a way that is optimum for you – let’s find it!

Here are some of the things my clients have said about working with me:

Shaun is a fantastic teacher who will take a genuine interest in your progress and success.
He ensures that techniques are fully understood (and what's behind them), which allows for a true in-depth understanding of the small details that will make you a better player.

T.L.Senior Associate (Equities)

Shaun has been able to instruct and communicate so effortlessly it’s really put me at ease.
He is able to break things down simply, and his knowledge, experience and professionalism is always present at every lesson, as well as some great humour!

A.D.FI and MM Broker

Damascene moments are rare for recipients; to be supplying them is only afforded to those on Mount Olympus!
Thanks a million for all that you’ve done in helping me with my golf game.

L.F.RCompany Director

Lessons have been both interesting and beneficial - I have become more consistent and find myself playing off a single figure handicap for the first time.
After playing golf for 25+ years, I think this is a fair testament of Shaun’s performance and professionalism in improving a golfer who never thought it possible.

G.FLogistics Manager

I have very much appreciated not only the technical side of Shaun's teaching, but also the value of the emotional and course management side of the game too.
He has an excellent manner and approach to his teaching which I find very motivating.

M.D.Head Teacher (Retired)

I’ve had a lot of “aha” moments trying to develop and sustain an above average golf game.

Now, I’m sharing all the lessons I’ve learned about how to get into golf and how to train / play better throughout this website, and in particular through my Learning Hub so that you can have reliable reference points and you won’t have to struggle as much as I did.

My long, winding journey to where I am today...

I didn’t have the guidance of a qualified pro until I had been playing for nearly 10 years and my progress was slow and often incredibly frustrating!

As Keith J. Cunningham says in his book “The Road Less Stupid” – “Few things are worse than running in the wrong direction enthusiastically” (and if you’re familiar with the book, yes, dumb tax was paid!).

I read books and magazines, got tips from the members at my Club, video’ed my swing as much as possible and I hit practice balls relentlessly.

After 7 years, and well over 100,000 golf shots I finally got my handicap to Scratch.

I learned a lot about recognising what was critical and what was just fluff (even though there was some spectacular fails along the way).

Oh, and that was while I was in school and then moving into the real world and having to keep a day job. It wasn’t easy.

I figured out how to train better and play smarter, and I found a Coach to help expedite the process further (Heads up! I still go for golf lessons now).

I share a lot about performance and training smarter on Twitter.

(You should join me)

I’m based out of Greenwich, London, but I’ve worked with golfers from all over the world.

If you’ve made it this far … thank you.

Honestly, I value every relationship I’ve been lucky enough to build from my coaching.

My strengths lie in teaching people how to swing better, and play better so that they can ultimately enjoy themselves more on the golf course. If you’re here for those things, don’t wait to reach out – contact me here.

If you’d like to find out more about golf lessons you can do so here.
